After a makeover lasting more than two decades, Barcelona has transformed itself into one of the most dynamic and stylish cities in the world. Summer is serious party time, but year-round the city sizzles-it's always on the biting edge of architecture, food, fashion, style, music and good times.
Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. Catalonia is one region of Spain.
Barcelona is one of the most beatiful cities that you should visit it.
The most important parts are:
The center. Passeig de Gracia for shopping and modernism buildings. Don't forget to visit la Pedrera (called casa Mila too). Discuss corner Casa Batlló, Casa Ametller and Casa Morera i Lleó. Three houses built during Modernism. If want to do a nice promanade you can walk along Passeig de Gracia until Catalonia square and after you can walk across la Ramblas. La Ramblas is a nice boulevard. In the middle of the Ramblas don't forget to visit el Mercat de la Boqueria, el Liceu (Opera house) and Palau Güell (Recently renovated). At the end of Las Ramblas you could see Columbus and the old Port.
Another area that I recommend you is Gotic neighborhood and El Born. In Gotic area you can visit the town Hall and the Cathedral. Enjoy your visit walking and discovering things in the narrow streets. In El Born you have to visit one of the best gotic church Santa Maria del Mar, amazing architecture.
If you have time take tickets to visit La sagrada familia, don't go to the church and wait for the long cue, you can take tickets from the cash point. It's the best way.
Park Güell is another park that you should visit.
If you have already energy there are interesting museum that you should visit, Caixa forum always with interesting exhibitions, MNAC (Museu d'art Nacional de Catalunya), Museu Picasso and Museu Miró.
Another thing, don't forget our wines and our tapas, specially our catalan bread. You can order in all the restaurants and tapas places.
I hope that you have liked my quick recommendations about my city and you can enjoy your time there if you decide to visit it.
