Driving in good weather along the coastline of the extended region of Athens starting from Piraeus and ending at Sounio is one of my personal always fun things to do and recommended experience to anyone. Stopping in different points you will enjoy a diverse list of places. Marinas with megayachts and others with simple vessels, sport facilities from the Olympics of 2004, the old airport which might someday become one of the largest parks in Europe, ships-museums, the glittering suburban area of Glyfada, hotels, cafes and restaurants, nightclubs, remoted fish-taverns, depending on the time of year crowded beaches which are organised or not. All these are ending at the cape of Sounio where is standing the Temple of Poseidon and beyond there extends the Aegean Sea.
