Athens is probably one of the weirdest cities in Europe.
It has so many negatives and at the same time so many positives that it's hard to imagine living in another city. First of all the lovely, full of free ancient monuments and the great little streets of Plaka that reminds you of the Greek islands, but still in the very center of Athens. After all, if somenone would like to enjoy some sea-view can always head to the Paraliaki ( sea-side avenue) which is full of night clubs, bars and caffees. If you still need something more central you can head to Thision or Gkazi where the heart of the city beats the last years. If you come as a tourist, Athens is the ideal place to stay for at least 3 nights before heading up to the islands in the summertime or the traditional villages in the wintertime.
