Visby is a beautiful place with a wonderful and very well preserved medieval city and wall. When walking the streets of Visby you get the impression that you are living your own fairytale with knights and fair ladies that need rescuing! At nights however, in week 29 or Stockholm week, around the middle of July, the city center is transformed and there are parties going on everywhere! People from around Sweden get their sailing boats and go to Visby for their vacation. There are also a lot of people cycling since Gotland is generally flat and ideal for a cycling holiday. However be prepared for the quickly changing weather and pack warm clothes and definately a raincoat! Visby is a place worth visiting if you like a combination of history and good time!
