I've only been to paris once and it was for only two days but I have only good things to say about it. I went up in the Eiffel tower and saw the greatest landmarks of the city by foot - it works perfectly fine to explore the city (centre) by foot.
I stayed at a fairly good hotel, although pretty standard. The room was tiny but I guess this is how it is unless you want to spend a fortune.
