Theres more to Bicol than just the near perfect cone Mayon Volcano, Wakeboarding in Cam Sur, pristine beaches in Calaguas and Caramoan Islands, Gorgeous Churches, Whale Watching in Sorsogon, or the spicy delicacies like Bicol Express and pinangat across Southern Luzon. One should have the insatiable energy to walk around town and eat balut (incubated duck in a crack) in the streets while talking with local folks, try endless walks in black shores of Legazpi, visit every church you pass by and touch stonewalls around the church, feel the bricks speak to you about the histories of the province. If you happen to pass by a rice field, look for a carabao and try riding one. Any Bicolano would gladly take your picture and graciously help you out. Try learning a word or two in every town, you might be surprise how funny some words would sound like or how they would translate to your own language. Start walking and get lost!
