A city of 2300 years old
It was named Thessaloniki after Alexander’s the Great sister and since then its history has been very exciting and turbulent.
It is the second largest city in Greece and it has been a cosmopolitan and cross-cultural center the Balkans. Its classical, Roman and Byzantine monuments are great attractions and its many Byzantine churches testify its important role in Greek history and the spread of Christianity all over Europe.
It is famous for its Mediterranean cuisine with an oriental influence.
