A Taste of Heaven in a Mountain Top
The second-largest archipelago in the world, with over 7000 tropical islands, the Philippines is one of the great treasures of Southeast Asia. Often overlooked by travellers because of its location on the ‘wrong’ side of the South China Sea, the Philippines rewards those who go the extra distance to reach it. And because it’s off the beaten path, the Philippines is a great place to escape the hordes who descend on other parts of Southeast...
Sagada, located in Mt. Province in the Philippines is one of the most beautiful destinations that a traveler can visit.
It is a place ideal for those who travel by himself or among group of friends who wants a taste of solace and idyllic world and getting the chance to meet people from other cultures within the Philippines and also of people from other countries who also love to come to this taste of heaven in the northernmost part of the Philippines.
In reaching there and maximize the travel adventure, it is good to drop by Baguio City at one night stay, then leave the following day at around 6 in the morning to travel to Sagada which is 8 hours trip from Baguio City. The travel is by bus and along the way, you will see a mountainous terrain.
Upon reaching the place, you experience an unimaginable calmness and quiteness of the people who are local in the area and get a chance to experience the unique culture of the Sagadan. What is noticeable are the people from other countries who are also visiting this wondrous place. You get to befriend them and learn from them too!
The climate is cold but just enough to soothe everyone in the place. At night, there is an opportunity to hang out with others in a bonfire while sharing each other's life stories.
We also went to Sumaguing Cave, a unique cave where clean water is inside it. The hanging cemetery is also a cultural experience.
The three-days stay in this place is delightfully a taste of heaven in a mouintain.
