The description on this hotel's website reads that this hotel 'pays particular attention to the warm welcome of its guests and the staff do all they can to ensure a welcome that not only offers their guests great professionalism but also lets them feel a little less like tourists and more as if they were at home.' Hmm. As a well behaved and inoffensive, lone female traveller I was struck by air of bafflement and surprise with which I was greeted by the staff at this 3 star hotel. The remainder of my stay was charcaterised by a decidedly gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere and a distinct coolness on the part of the reception staff. Having read about thier 'great local knowledge', I was less than impressed when asking for local transport details, I was brusquely told to 'go to the ticket office', particularly when I noticed other guests receiving lengthy and helpful advice! What did I do wrong? My stay here culminated in what can only be described as a tantrum of toddler proportions by a receptionist when I reasonably queried my bill upon checkout. Sexism, racism or just typical rudeness, I am not sure how to explain the attitudes of the staff in this establishment. Needless to say. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.
