Introduction

Parga is a small town in West Greece. It is located between Preveza and Igoumenitsa. The town is quite touristic and you will see many signs "rooms to let" and taverns offering local delicacies. The beach is good but it would be better to skip it and head to less crowded beaches outside the town.

Getting there

There are basically only two ways of getting to Parga, by bus, and by boat. There are several daily bus connections from both Preveza and Igoumenitsa, as well as boats from Corfu. Charter tourists arrive with buses from the airport close to Preveza.

Getting around

Parga is a very small town, so there is really no need for transportation to get around, except from the boats leaving every now and then to the nearby beaches Lichnos and Valtos. It is possible to walk, though the trip can be very warm during the day. To get to the surrounding areas, there is a car and scooter rental in town.

When to go

Spring and summertime are considered the best to visit Parga, since at that time you will be able to swim and enjoy the beaches. In wintertime, it can get pretty lonely, as many shops are closed because Parga is mainly a summer destination.
