History
Pre 20th
The city of Preveza was founded after the decay of the ancient city Nikopolis, somewhere in the 11th century AD. Preveza was threatened by Albanians, Francs, Venetians and Turks. The Turks finally conquered Preveza in 1449. Turks and Venetians ruled the city until 1912 when it's given to Greece.

When to go
Preveza is a city you can visit all year round. In winter time you can admire the wilderness of the sea and head to the inland. In summertime though it's the best period:many splendid beaches await you.
