There is no better way to learn a culture that is going deeper into their festivities and celebrations, there is no better feeling than getting drunk in the collective madness that occurs on these occasions and screaming excited as local enriching ur experience. Celebrations get us into the culture, history and society of the place where we visit and at the same time experiencing their pride and joy becoming local and friends for a moment.



Mexican holidays have great fame to be amazing, noisy and fun; in other words are all a unique expriencia you should not skip in your next visit to Mexico. There are so many festivals that you can almost have a party and celebration every weekend just need to be in the right place and right time, there are all kinds ranging from cultural (fetivales film, painting, music, etc..) to the more traditional (Seri new year, celebrations of Easter, etc.) with religious and social meanings. Many have asked me which party I recommend and I always answer "depends on whether you want to see" as truly a Top 5 is more than Gaps to mark all the wonderful festivals celebrated annually in Mexico, so I decided to take small details different parties trying to split the list includes a little bit of everything without leaving next big parties worthy of mention so in the future makes specific lists of celebrations, but I'll start with the largest in Mexico (which will be in 2 parts) and are called by many Mexicans like the UNMISSABLE fiestas.

When?



Annually in October, more specifically is 2 weeks.



Where?



Takes place every year in the city of Guanajuato, Mexico which is located in north central Mexico. It is noteworthy that Guanajuato is a city rich in history and culture in addition to good weather excelnete makes it a tourist destination all year round, not to mention it is one of the 9 cities that Mexico has entered in the Heritage of Humanity UNESCO.



What is celebrated? (as originated)



It is popularly known as "Cervantino. " The festival had its origins in the representations of the interludes interludes of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra performed by students at the University of Guanajuato in the plazas of the city. Was gradually increasing its importance, until government officials began collaborating. In 1972, the festival acquired its current name, and from then it has become a showcase for artists from around the world. There have been about 40 festivals in total.



Why go there?



Is a multidisciplinary festival of performing arts and is one of the most important in Mexico and Latin America, and is considered by many artists and the public one of the largest in the world. Its offer is wide, taking from events local artists to international so it is easy to find volatile prices ranging from $ 500 Mexican pesos for entry to those who are free (as CLETA which is the festival of street performers). Joint cultural exhibitions perfectly with its vibrant nightlife that never seems to rest or sleep. Its main street is always full of life in his alleys with the "estudiantinas" (traditional gruops of musicians) and the general public like an carnival of the arts.



Feria de San Marcos

When?



Between April-May, the last two weeks and first two weeks, respectively. The most important day in the show is on April 25, coinciding with the day of San Marcos.



Where?



Takes place in the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico, in the district of San Marcos.



What is celebrated? (as originated)



Its celebration dates back to 1828, from 20 October to 20 November, to sell the product of crops and livestock; was closely linked with the harvest in Aguascalientes. However, this tradition
survives only at the bullfights, where make wine mixed with brandy in the traditional boots. In 1842 the Festival pass to the "New" Garden of San Marcos and the date was moved too from November to April to coincide with the celebrations in honor of the Saint Patron of the city. In 1958 the fair was granted the title "National"



Why go there?



Besides being the show with more visits nationwide (about 8 million per year) and being one that makes more economic spills (over 200 million dollars) This fair is known for:



Your Serial bullfighting. Where it is common to present the highest figures of the time worldwide. National Charro Championship (the mexican traditional sport). Cockfighting. Where sides are participating fights around the country where gambling is legal. In that scenario also presents the most famous popular singers of the moment in Mexico. His Casino is the only with permission to operate legally in Mexico. Its world-class modern facilities. Livestock Exposition wide and varied. Horse racing. Sporting events including the famous Mexican wrestling. Cultural events. Artistic events, exhibitions, diverse countries are invited every year. Nightlife Fireworks and tours among other activities!!
