Top five things to see and do in Atlantic City, USA
Jersey Shore Beaches
There are many beaches to choose from along the New Jersey coastline. In the Atlantic County area of South Jersey there are six main beaches to choose from such as Brigantine, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate, Longport, and Ocean City. In the summer the temperature is typically warm but can get hot. The beach is a place to go relax and cool down in the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is a popular spot for locals during the summertime. Catch some waves surfing, ocean kayaking, and wind surfing. Another popular event to catch are lifeguards testing their ocean rescue skills and physique in annual lifeguard races. In Atlantic City the beach is within a few steps from the casinos. Atlantic City is similar to an east coast version of Vegas, so attractive for people into the casino-scene. The beach is perfect for 4th of July celebrations during the day.
Dusk nightclub
Dusk is Atlantic City’s newest nightclub. Really stylish and modern nightlife. The club opened in 2009 in Caesar’s. Dusk is home to some of the hottest deejays and has some notable guests. Lately every weekend there is a celebrity hosting the party. VIP tables and bottle service is available. Dusk is a great place to start or end your weekend!
Charlie’s Bar
Located in Somers Point, Charlie is a family, sports bar with great service and even better food. Catch a local sports game with friends over drinks and food. At Charlie’s, the buffalo chicken wings are the best selection off the menu. There is a variety of wing sauces to choose from. Dare to try the Top Gun, the hottest sauce. Stop in and try the wings!
Ocean City Boardwalk
The Ocean City Boardwalk stretches alongside the OC beach with stores, amusement rides, and food venues. These are enjoyed mostly during the summer months; mostly because these aspects of the boardwalk are only opened during the summer. The OC boardwalk is home to two amusement parks, Gillian’s Wonderland and Castaway Cove, located at opposite sides of the boardwalk. These rides are mostly geared at family settings but can still be enjoyed by all ages. There is also a water park, great for having fun and cooling off. There are other amusement attractions such as go-carts, miniature golf, and a bungee ball. Everywhere you go on the boardwalk you will find something to eat. Try Johnson’s caramel popcorn, funnel cake, cotton candy, ice cream, fudge, salt water taffy, water ice (that’s what we call Italian ice in New Jersey), pizza (similar to NY style), and a lot more to choose from. The best thing is that most of the food listed above you can watch them make. You’ll have a guarantee good time at the boardwalk!
Lucy the Elephant
Lucy is a historic landmark for the Atlantic City area, located in Margate. You can’t miss this massive elephant structure when you drive by or strolling along the beach. First built in 1881, this attraction still stands but has gone through some restoration and transformations. Now its main function is a tourist attraction, where you can climb to the top via the staircase in the legs, and enjoy a scene of the shore.
