Top five things to see and do in South Africa
Top five things to see and do in South Africa
Walk at the park
This is from my personal taste first has to be the Kruger National Park. Here you can in the comfort of your own car, drive in the park or see all the wild animals in their natural habitat. Seeing those special moments rare in life, makes it even more memorable. Or you can take a Safari vehicle with open sides, allowing you to experience nature in all its glory.
Go up in the mountains
Then I have to comment on the Drakensberg Mountains in KwaZulu Natal. Seeing this gigantic piece of rock, looking up when you stand at its base, just makes you realise how small the human race really are. Attaching to this is the Drakensberg Mountain range in Mpumalanga. It is here that you will find the world’s third largest canyon and the world’s largest GREEN canyon. With its mesmerising rock shapes and formations not to mention the different colours scattered all over the rock surface. From up here on the escarpment you have breathtaking views over the Lowveld and on a clear day can almost see Mozambique.
Cape Town forever
In third place for me is Cape Town. I love its fickle weather, 4 seasons in one day. The Table Mountain is a good beacon if driving around town and should you get lost. The clean fresh air, huge passenger ships lying, waiting in the harbour and the Cape Winelands and coast with endless vistas over the countryside.
Visit Garden Route
Then in fourth place, one has to visit the Garden Route. With its white sandy beaches, perfect to relax on in summer to the adjacent Little Karoo with the sheep and Ostrich farms and endless mountain range, with unique shapes and colours, enough to keep anyone fascinated for hours. Not to miss out on a romantic sunset cruise from on the Knysna Lagoon or a adventure pumping boat safari to go find whales and dolphins that has made the South Africa Coast their home. Launching from the trailer into the sea and then at high speed out again onto the beach as there is NO jetties to launch from. An absolute must when in the area.
Free State
And then last but not least, you got to love the Eastern Free State and bordering Lesotho. And, YES – South Africa also gets snow. So much that we also ski in winter down the icy slopes. Apart from getting cold in winter, this region boasts of the most beautiful sandstone rock formations. Open spaces filled with cattle and sheep farming. Here you can enjoy mountain hiking and rock climbing to your heart’s content, varying from easy family friendly to the advance rock faces for the experienced enthusiast.
I can go on and on. South Africa is a country of vast diversity, covering 7 world heritage sites to local communities living in the traditional way. With friendly people to affordable accommodation and activities facilities. We can offer it all.
