Hawaian Fusion Cuisine
Making number one on my Best of Baltimore (Top 5 Restaurants and Entertainment) is Roy Yamaguchi's "Hawaiian Fusion" Cuisine, a mouth-watering combination of exotic flavors mixed with the freshest local ingredients and always an emphasis on the seafood. The next time you stop in on Baltimore, you will no doubt go back to Roy's for seconds!
Nacho Mama's
Numero Dos, is ''The Mexican Hangout'' Nacho Mama's! The chummy pub, crammed with Elvis and National Bohemian memorabilia, clearly puts the emphasis on ''hangout''. And while the authenticity of its Mexican fare is questionable, the appeal is definitely not. The chef makes excellent south-of-the-border cuisine with great success. Most dishes come in Tex-Mex form (quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, etc) but with a creative twist.
Paradox Nightclub
Number Three is located in an old warehouse. Yes, while it may sound a bit creepy, the Paradox dance club located in the Inner Harbor, is one of the best places to dance in Baltimore. Club music thumps in the dance club and patrons of all ages ''get down'' to popular house and hip-hop music on the enormous dance floor. All that dancing requires sustenance, so nosh on pizza, chicken or other snacks at the in-house restaurant. If dancing isn't your thing, hang out in the outside courtyard or shoot some hoops at the half-court basketball court.
The Maryland Zoo
The second to last, Number Four on the list, is something fun for all ages. The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is home to over 2,000 animals and is the third oldest zoo in the US. A great time for the whole family!
Recher Theatre
Last but not least, with the great acoustics of an old movie theater, Recher Theater is a top Baltimore concert venue. This former movie theater and billiard hall is now a Baltimore nightlife hotspot featuring big-name artists from across the country. Next door, the Rec Room Bar offers beer on tap, 27 TVs, pool tables and a great menu featuring awesome appetizers, sandwiches and burgers. Stop by this Baltimore bar for dinner before the big show and you won’t be disappointed.
