Top five things to see and do in Rio, Brazil
It isn't a coincidence that all around Brazil the city of Rio de Janeiro is better known as the Wonderful City. There are just so many things to do that a top 5 will come in handy to see what things you should not miss.
Go to Ipanema beach
It doesn't matter if it is a weekday or not, you will find that this beach is always full of people, but not just normal people...hot people, whether they are jogging on the streets, working out on the sand, surfing, or simply getting a nice tan, you will be quite entertained by the bodies you may see. Of course we must not leave out that laying on the sand with a couple of friends, appreciating the view of the beach and the famous "Dois irmaos" mountains makes you feel in wonderland.
The Christ
Well, who doesn't want to have a picture in front of the famous christ that appears on every single postcard? The top of the mountain where the Christ is located gives one of the most beautiful views of Rio. You can get there by walking (although it is not as recomended), or you can get a little train to the top, or there are cabs that offer you a ride (which are usually cheaper). DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE PICTURES!
Pao de Acucar (Sugarloaf)
When you go to Rio you will find that the city is surrounded by oddly-shaped mountains, and the sugarloaf is one of them. Cable cars are available for tourists to go on top of the sugarloaf. From the top you will be able to see the famous Copacabana beach, Ipanema beach, and all of its surroundings.
Hang Gliding
Are you the adventourous type? If you are, do hangliding! it is the most unbelievable experience in such a beautiful city! (if you are lucky and the day is has perfect conditions to fly, you may be able to fly to the christ) . You will get to fly on top of the neighborhood called Sao Conrado, which is where the elite class lives. You will the to see the beautiful beaches and then have a peaceful landing on soft sand. If you get up there to do hang gliding but you get too scared, you can always take advantage that you are already up there and walk 20 minutes to the top of the mountain for a breath-taking view.
Angra
Take a one day trip to Angra, its totally worth it! Angra is about two and a half hours from Rio and it is made up of around 300 small islands. There are tourist agencies that will take you there for a day and will include a boat trip with lunch. The beaches you will see here are one of the most beautiful in the state of Rio. You will get to do some snorkeling and swimming with colorful fishes. On the boat, the staff makes you really good caipirinhas and they will put lots of Brazilian music so that you can enjoy the ride even more.
As I said before, there are many things you can do in Rio, so explore more and stay more than a week because you will need to!

you will hang glide with an instructor who has a license, most have at least 20 yrs of experience. You cannot hang glide by yourself, unless you have a license of course.
Do you need any kind of license for the hang gliding?
