Sao Paulo, third biggest "Jungle" in the world
São Paulo is night life all around. Going out to eat and dance is definitely something you must do. There are several places to go, depending on your mood. Altough it is recognized as a city of work and business, São Paulo still has a lot to offer. But you have to be curious, it is not the type of city you feel in love in the first place. You will probably love this amazing city while walking around with no destination at all.
Top 5 things to do and see:
Walk at the heart of the city
You have to walk around Paulista Av, our 05th avenue in São Paulo. Choose week days and you will think that Paulistanos (people born in São Paulo) are always in a hurry. It is the business heart in São Paulo, with plenty of boutiques, hotels, small restaurants, small shoppings, street fairs, etc.
Vila Madaleva Viva!
During night, you can choose plenty of neighborhoods. Vila Madalena is known as a place for bohemians, art places, samba night life, pubs, etc. During saturday afternoon you can check Vila Madalena fair, a nice place to buy nice home made things, lamps, purses, and eat a Feijoada , a tipical brazilian food made of rice, black beans and all types of meat.
A day at the park
During days, you must verify that, besides having grey, Sao Paulo can pretty much be green. We have our "Hyde Park" or Central Park, called, actually, as Parque do Ibirapuera. A nice place, with a nice lake, and a lot to do.
Time for lunch!
If you like eating, São Paulo is the place for you. We have plenty of nice restaurants serving all world type of foods (since, remember, we are a cosmopolitan city). You can find "eat all you want" restaurants all around. If you love japanese food and think here is too expensive, you are wrong. You can find nice places in Liberdade, a japanese neighborhood, that has plenty of restaturants as this, serving a lot of food for the cost of $32,00 reais, the local currency.
Party party!
Last, but not least. If you love the night life, believe, São Paulo is just as good as other big known world cities, such as London and New York. All you need to do to find out is to get to know "cool"people that can take you to the right places. If you are a big fan of techno, you can find nice places in Augusta (or around Augusta), such as Vegas, D-Edge. If you are more into Samba, you should go to Vila Madalena, for sure. If you love getting outside the city, once and a while, theres a known party (always outside town), rave, called "Tribe". If want a Karaoke, go to Liberdade. If you want Pop Rock, find places in Vila Olimpia, a place for "playboys". Nice places to go: Cafe de La musique, Kiaora (thursdays), Aurora (Sundays), D-Edge, Vegas, Trash 80s. You will find theres a lot to see and theres no time to see it all. Of course, never forget that this city is a huge jungle.

Great guide, I heard a lot of good things about Sao Paulo - especially from people that have stayed for a while.
Hey hey hey, I'd also like to become a Salsa King!
www.bourbonstreet.com.br. This is definetly the best place to enjoy the night and dance salsa (not a typical brazilian dance - samba is a brazilian dance - but for sure a nice one). There are other places that actually "teach" salsa, find below": Centro de Dança Jaime Aroxa Av.
