How to get from Suvarnabhumi International Airport
Suvarnabhumi International Airport is the new airport in Bangkok and it's indeed an impressing airport. Although it's huge it's hard to get lost and everything runs smoothly.
As always when you come to a new place it might be a bit tricky not to get hustled when it comes to getting from the airport to the city. So here's an suggestion of how you should do to get a taxi for a fair price.
After you got your bags off the luggage belt at least 10 people will jump you and offer you taxi service to Bangkok. You can of course say yes but these prices are at least 3 times as high as they should be. So just smile and say "No, thanks".
When you have reached the main entrance/exit follow the EXIT signs and look for signs in the sky which say PUBLIC TAXI. You might have to get outside to see these signs. When you get there you get yourself in line and wait to get served. When your turn is up a thai guy by a small table will ask you where you want to go. Then you say "I'd like to go to..." and he gives you a small paper note. Stay in line (you don't have to worry about anything, these guys will make sure you'll get your car) and after a minute or two a taxi driver will show you to you car.
When you have started driving he will ask you if you want to go EXPRESS HIGHWAY or not. I suggest you do so, it will cost you about 70-100 baht but it is so much faster. So give him a 100B bill so he can pay the EXPRESS road tolls. Make sure you have some cash with you since they don't accept credit cards in taxis.
A trip to downtown Bangkok should be around 300b + tolls depending on the traffic and it will take you around 30-40 min.
Good luck!
