What is the YouPlanet Ambassador program?
YouPlanet is a new way of financing your travels. YouPlanet enables you to travel without a travel budget, and actually earn money while traveling. As a YouPlanet ambassador you will approach hotels, restaurants and companies offering different experiences (diving, climbing etc.) and offer them the opportunity to become a partner on YouPlanet. Our Partners will get:
- A complete professional venue page in the travel guide with all details you need;
- Your own website with your own web address with a real-time interface enabling you to write news, upload photos and much more;
- SEO power behind your venue page and website that will bring you to the top of search engines;
- Online reputation management; a communication platform for you, your customers and your venue’s reviews;
- Community features where you can invite new and old customers, and let them spread the word about you;
- Website analytics to know where your customers come from and what they are looking for.
A Partner will pay a fee of which you as an ambassador get a large share, transferred directly to you online account.

How does it work to be a YouPlanet Ambassador?
Your mission as a YouPlanet ambassador is to expand the YouPlanet travel guide. You will do this through adding hotels/restaurants and experience suppliers when you are out on your journeys. The partners (hotels etc.) will pay a fee for services provided and from this fee you will get a share. The amount of effort you put in is totally up to you. The more time you put in the more money you will generate. There are no costs involved in being a YouPlanet ambassador and YouPlanet gives you all necessary tools to become a successful.

Can I be a YouPlanet Ambassador if I don’t have any sales experience?
Yes, sales experience is good but not necessary. YouPlanet will teach you the basic steps needed through an interactive pedagogic sales training. After this online training you will receive a diploma and you are then ready to start your Ambassador career. Moreover, our support is always ready to coach and support you!

How do I know how to promote YouPlanet?
The YouPlanet interactive sales training gives you all the training you need. You will be guided through a virtual sales session where you have to convince a potential partner to join YouPlanet. Moreover, we have a lot of information that you can download and print, which will help you to remember the key parts!

How much can I earn?
There are no limits in how much you can earn. The amount of Partners is almost endless. The only limit is the effort you put in. Our average Ambassadors enlist 1-2 partners per day, which gives you $2,200-$4,400 per month. And we have Ambassadors with 3-4 new partners per day, which gives them $6,600-$8,800 per month.
This means that you without any problems can stay out traveling as long as you want!
Does it cost anything to be a YouPlanet Ambassador?
No, the YouPlanet Ambassador program is totally free. There are no costs involved to become an Ambassador or to work as an Ambassador.

What do I do if the potential Partner does not have internet?
Sometimes the partner venues don’t have immediate access to the Internet. Make sure to bring a copy of the brochure material that you simply download and print in the “Embassy”. You will then easily be able to explain for the Partner what YouPlanet is and how it works. You can thereafter also help the Partner to register an account and list their venue yourself with information that you get from the Partner, and then simply give them the login details. The only thing left is then the activation of the account, which you easily can do in the nearest Internet café.

What do I do if the potential Partner does not want to pay with credit card?
If the Partner doesn’t want or can’t pay with a credit card he can also pay with a bank transfer. He follows the same step-by-step activation procedure but simply choose “Pay with a bank transfer” when asked for preferred payment method.

When will I get my commission?
You will receive your commission maximum 48 hours after that we have received the payment from the Partner. Most Ambassadors receive their commission within 12 hours.

How will I get my commission? How do I get it into cash?
You receive your commission through the e-wallet service Skrill (Moneybookers). If you don’t have an account with them already, simply click here to create one. From Skrill (Moneybookers) you can then withdraw your money to your credit card or to your bank account. It’s a very fast and safe way of handling global payments.

Where can I find the print material that I use when meeting Partners?
You can find all the necessary material on the Training and Downloads page. Some files are even translated to local languages.
Will I get a business card?
Yes, after being approved, our Ambassadors will receive a business card that is easily printed in normal A4 format. This is sent to you on request, so simply send us an email on support@youplanet.com and we’ll send it to you.

Do I get to travel through the Ambassador program?
You can go wherever you want, the Ambassador (and Partner) program is global and the YouPlanet travel guide is worldwide. There are just a few exceptions (like North Korea and Nigeria) due to financial restrictions but we basically operate in the whole world.

Does YouPlanet cover my travel expenses?
Since we have travelers from all over the world we have a hard time to sponsor people’s tickets around the world. However, when you have started working and can show a good track record of a stable stream of new partners we will do an individual evaluation and and together with you discuss the best setup. But, you need to start working as an Ambassador first.

What should I do if I would like to stop working as an Ambassador?
If you don’t want to work as an Ambassador anymore, you simply send us an email at support@youplanet.com telling us that you would like to stop. If you would like to get started later again, we are glad to restore your Ambassador status. You simply stop working.

How do the partners activate (pay for) their account?
The Partner activates the account through an online payment process, similar to when you purchase a flight ticket online or when you make an online hotel reservation. The Partner can make the payment with a credit card transaction, or a bank transfer. The credit card payment is instant, while a bank transfer takes a few days.

How does YouPlanet know that the Partner was registered thanks to me?
When the Partner creates his/her account on www.partner.youplanet.com/register, there is a field in the registration process called “Ambassador email”. Make sure that the Partner fills in your email address, and our system will automatically link the Partner with your effort. If the system doesn’t recognize your email address, just send us an email on support@youplanet.com and we will correct it manually.

Are all the places (hotels, restaurants etc) on YouPlanet Partners?
No, not all places that you see on YouPlanet are Partners. YouPlanet members can also add venues where they’ve been to the guide, without the venue’s knowledge. If you can see the Partner’s contact details without being logged in on Youplanet, then you can recognize it as a Partner.

Who can become a Partner?
We have four different categories on YouPlanet: Lodging, Dining, Nightlife and Experience. All venues that fit under any of these categories can become a YouPlanet Partner.
- Lodging: Hotels, hostels, guest houses, villas, motels, resorts, bungalows and apartments
- Dining: Restaurants, cafées
- Nightlife: Bars and nightclubs
- Experience: Things to see or things to do like dive schools, bicycle rentals, tour agencies, car rentals, museums and other sights.
Why do you not transfer the commission to the Ambassadors’ traditional bank accounts?
We use the e-wallet system because it is fast, secure and has very low fees. Our Ambassadors are traveling all over the world, and sending money using the traditional banking system can take up to five days, and cost as much as $30-$40 per transaction. With the e-wallet system, the transfer is instant, and the fee is just around $0.50-$1.00.
